Course Overview
The Bachelor of Science (Speech and Language Therapy) provides students with the knowledge and clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. The programme covers speech development, linguistics, anatomy, neuroscience, phonetics, dysphagia, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions through academic study and supervised clinical practice.
Students gain experience working with children and adults affected by developmental, neurological, or acquired communication disorders. Strong emphasis is placed on patient-centred care, interdisciplinary teamwork, and professional communication. Graduates are well prepared for careers in hospitals, schools, rehabilitation services, community healthcare, and specialist speech and language clinics.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of 10 + 2 with minimum 80% aggregate including a biological science and language subjects.
- IELTS 7.0 (minimum 7.0 in each band), TOEFL iBT 100, or PTE 65.
- Speech and language diagnostic test, police vetting, and health clearance.
- High school transcripts, statement of purpose, academic references, and health report.
- Applicants must satisfy programme-specific academic eligibility, and for postgraduate programmes hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Some programmes may also require relevant work experience, an interview, or a portfolio where specified.
