Course Overview
The BSc Nursing (General) prepares students to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care across a wide range of healthcare settings. The programme combines studies in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nursing science, health assessment, and professional practice with extensive supervised clinical placements in hospitals and community healthcare environments.
Students develop strong clinical competence, communication, and critical thinking skills while learning to provide holistic patient-centred care. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, ethical practice, leadership, and lifelong professional development. Graduates are eligible to pursue registration and careers in hospitals, community health services, specialist care, and international healthcare systems.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of 10 + 2 with a minimum aggregate of 70% to 75% including Biology and Chemistry or Physics.
- IELTS 7.0 (with no band less than 6.5), TOEFL iBT 95, or PTE 65.
- Mandatory clinical entry interview, Garda Vetting (police clearance), and occupational health screening.
- High school transcripts, health declaration form, statement of purpose, and academic reference letters.
- Immunization records and clinical placement fitness check.
