Course Overview
The MSc Astrophysics & Relativity provides advanced education in the physics of the universe, combining theoretical knowledge with computational and observational techniques. Students explore cosmology, black holes, gravitational waves, general relativity, high-energy astrophysics, and computational modelling through research-led learning and scientific investigation.
The programme develops analytical, mathematical, and research skills while engaging students with contemporary developments in space science. Students undertake independent research projects using advanced computational methods and observational data. Graduates are prepared for careers in scientific research, space science, data analysis, education, and doctoral study.
Entry Requirements
- Certified copy of a recognized Level 8 bachelor’s degree in Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Astronomy (minimum 60% or 2.1 Honours / 3.0 GPA).
- IELTS 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0), TOEFL iBT 92, PTE 63, or Duolingo 120.
- Review of undergraduate background in classical mechanics, quantum physics, and relativity.
- Updated CV/resume, official degree transcripts, statement of purpose, and two academic LORs.
- Faculty academic review and theoretical physics transcript mapping.
