Course Overview

The BSc Midwifery at Bangor University prepares students to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. The curriculum covers maternal and newborn health, antenatal care, labour and birth, neonatal assessment, public health, obstetric emergencies, pharmacology, and professional practice.

Students complete extensive supervised clinical placements in NHS maternity settings, gaining practical experience in supporting women and families. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and pursue careers as registered midwives in hospitals, community services, and maternity care organisations.
