Course Overview

The MA Social Work at Bangor University prepares graduates for professional social work practice through an intensive combination of academic study and supervised practice learning. The programme covers social policy, safeguarding, child and family welfare, adult services, mental health, ethics, human rights, legislation, and evidence-based interventions.

Students complete substantial placements within statutory and voluntary social care organisations to develop professional competence. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as social workers and pursue careers in child protection, adult social care, mental health, community services, and local authorities.
