Course Overview

The BA (Hons) Youth Work and Communities at Birmingham City University prepares students to work with young people and diverse communities through inclusive and empowering practice. The programme covers youth development, safeguarding, community engagement, social policy, leadership, equality, mental wellbeing, and participatory approaches.

Practical placements enable students to apply theory while developing communication, advocacy, and community leadership skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in youth work, community development, local authorities, charities, voluntary organisations, education, and social inclusion initiatives.
