Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at TCU Burnett School of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME.

The curriculum features active learning without traditional lectures, Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (LIC), empathetic communication coaching, and research. Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or 90+ credits at an accredited US/Canadian institution required.
  • MCAT required (511+ target); TOEFL iBT for foreign degrees.
  • 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Biochem, Physics, English.
  • The institution primarily admits U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents. Applications from international students may be reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis. Eligibility often depends on previous academic study in the United States, proof of financial resources, and the institution’s ability to support visa requirements.
  • Applicants applying through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) should submit either a Pre-Health Committee Letter Packet or three to five individual Letters of Recommendation (LORs) from professors, physicians, research mentors, or employers who can provide a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant’s qualifications for medical education.
