About Silliman University Medical School

Silliman University Medical School, located in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, is one of the Philippines’ oldest Protestant medical schools and is internationally recognized for its commitment to excellence in medical education, research, and community service. As part of Silliman University, the medical school integrates Christian values with scientific medical training, emphasizing holistic healthcare, ethical practice, and social responsibility.

The Doctor of Medicine curriculum combines biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, preventive healthcare, research, leadership development, and community immersion through an outcomes-based educational approach. Students receive clinical education primarily through Silliman University Medical Center and affiliated government hospitals, where they manage diverse patient populations across major medical specialties. The institution actively supports biomedical research, international collaborations, global health initiatives, and rural healthcare programs throughout the Visayas. Graduates are recognized for their professionalism, clinical competence, and commitment to serving communities both in the Philippines and overseas.
