About University of Nevada School of Medicine

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is Nevada’s first public medical school and has served the state for more than five decades by educating physicians, advancing biomedical research, and improving community health. The curriculum integrates foundational sciences with early patient experiences, clinical skills training, and community-based education.

Students complete clerkships through Renown Health, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System, and other affiliated hospitals. The school places strong emphasis on primary care, rural medicine, population health, and healthcare innovation while addressing the physician workforce needs of Nevada.
