The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at the University of Waikato equips students to help people improve independence, health, and wellbeing through meaningful daily activities. The programme covers human anatomy, rehabilitation, mental health, disability support, paediatrics, assistive technologies, occupational science, and clinical practice.
Students complete supervised placements across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools, and community organisations, developing practical assessment and intervention skills. Graduates are prepared to support individuals recovering from illness, injury, or disability and pursue registration as occupational therapists working in healthcare, rehabilitation, aged care, and community services.
