The BM Midwifery at Edinburgh Napier University prepares students to provide safe, evidence-based maternity care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. Students study maternal health, fetal development, antenatal care, labour and birth, neonatal care, obstetric emergencies, women’s health, and professional midwifery practice.
Extensive clinical placements enable students to gain practical experience supporting women and families across hospital and community settings. The programme develops clinical competence, communication, and decision-making skills required for professional midwifery registration and careers in maternity hospitals, birthing centres, and community maternity services.
