The BN Nursing Learning Disabilities at Edinburgh Napier University equips students to provide specialised healthcare for individuals with learning disabilities across all stages of life. Students study person-centred care, communication strategies, behavioural support, health inequalities, safeguarding, psychology, complex health needs, and inclusive healthcare practice.
Clinical placements develop practical skills in supporting individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams. The programme emphasises advocacy, independence, and holistic care while preparing graduates for professional registration and careers within community healthcare, specialist disability services, education, residential care, and health organisations.
