BSc Bioprocessing – DCU
Course Overview
The BSc Bioprocessing provides students with the scientific and engineering knowledge required to support modern biopharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing. Students study microbiology, biochemistry, cell culture, fermentation technology, downstream processing, quality systems, and bioprocess engineering through laboratory training and industry-focused learning.
The programme develops practical skills in process optimization, manufacturing operations, and regulatory compliance using current bioprocess technologies. Students gain valuable experience in scientific problem-solving and industrial applications. Graduates are prepared for careers in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, process development, quality assurance, and research.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of 10 + 2 (Higher Secondary Certificate) with a minimum aggregate of 75% to 80% including Chemistry and Mathematics.
- IELTS 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0), TOEFL iBT 92, PTE 63, or Duolingo 120.
- Secondary school bioprocess/chemistry lab work evaluation.
- Certified 10 + 2 mark sheets, official transcripts, statement of purpose, and LORs.
- Secondary completion verification, credential assessment, and passport copy.
