Course Overview
The BSc (Hons) General Nursing prepares students to deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care across diverse healthcare environments. Students study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nursing practice, patient assessment, health promotion, and professional ethics while completing extensive supervised clinical placements.
The programme develops clinical competence, communication skills, and critical thinking required for high-quality patient care. Students gain practical experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Graduates are prepared for careers in hospitals, community healthcare, specialist services, and international nursing practice.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of 10 + 2 with a minimum aggregate of 65% including Biology/Chemistry, Mathematics, and English (Subject to NMBI registration approval).
- IELTS 7.0 (with no band less than 6.5 or NMBI equivalent), TOEFL iBT 94, or OET standards.
- Mandatory Garda Vetting (Irish police clearance), medical fitness clearance, and occupational health screening.
- Certified 10 + 2 transcripts, healthcare motivation essay, clinical exposure summary (if any), and LORs.
- Pre-registration assessment by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and formal panel interview.
