Course Overview

The Doctor of Medicine (MD) Program at Renaissance School of Medicine is a 4-year full-time graduate medical degree accredited by the LCME.

The LEARN curriculum features active learning preclinical modules, clinical clerkships, and research project options at Stony Brook University Hospital. Graduates receive the title of Medical Doctor (MD), complying with U.S. licensing requirements (USMLE) and ACGME residency eligibility.

Entry Requirements

  • 90+ semester hours from an accredited US/Canadian college required.
  • MCAT required (516+ target); TOEFL iBT for foreign degrees.
  • 1 semester Math/Stats; Bio, Gen Chem, Org Chem, Biochem, Physics.
  • International applicants are eligible for admission. Applicants holding foreign undergraduate degrees must complete the required U.S.-based science prerequisite coursework before their applications will be considered competitive for admission.
  • Applicants applying through AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) should provide either a Pre-Health Committee Letter Packet or three individual faculty Letters of Recommendation (LORs), preferably including science faculty members who can assess the applicant’s academic competence and preparedness for medical school.
