Course Overview
The University of Queensland’s Master of Biotechnology develops advanced knowledge of biotechnology and its applications across medicine, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and industrial innovation. Students explore molecular biotechnology, genetic engineering, synthetic biology, bioinformatics, bioprocessing, and biotechnology commercialisation through laboratory-based and research-focused learning.
The program strengthens scientific investigation, innovation, and problem-solving skills while encouraging collaboration across multiple scientific disciplines. Students also examine regulatory frameworks and ethical considerations associated with emerging biotechnologies. Entry Requirements
- Academic Records: Recognized Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with a minimum 65%+ WAM.
- English Proficiency: IELTS 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 in sub-bands), TOEFL iBT 85, PTE 61.
- Prerequisites / Knowledge: University modules in algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and object-oriented coding.
