Course Overview
The Master of Science (Biotechnology) provides advanced education in the application of biological systems to solve challenges in healthcare, agriculture, and industrial production. Students study genetic engineering, synthetic biology, bioprocess technology, industrial microbiology, and molecular biotechnology while participating in practical laboratory training and research projects.
The programme promotes innovation by integrating scientific discovery with commercial and industrial applications. Students develop expertise in laboratory techniques, research methodology, and biotechnology product development. Graduates pursue careers in pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology research, biomedical innovation, regulatory affairs, and scientific consultancy.
Entry Requirements
- Certified copy of a recognized bachelor’s degree in Science, Biotechnology, or related field (minimum 55% or 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale).
- IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band), TOEFL iBT 88, PTE 61, or Duolingo 110.
- Technical competency verification in laboratory skills and molecular biology.
- CV/resume, degree certificate, transcripts, statement of purpose, and two letters of recommendation.
- Applicants must satisfy programme-specific academic eligibility, and for postgraduate programmes hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Some programmes may also require relevant work experience, an interview, or a portfolio where specified.
