Course Overview
The Master of Science (Toxicology) provides advanced knowledge of how chemicals, pharmaceuticals, environmental pollutants, and biological agents affect living organisms and ecosystems. Students study molecular toxicology, environmental toxicology, pharmacology, risk assessment, regulatory science, and laboratory testing while learning to evaluate the safety and potential health impacts of chemical exposure.
The programme combines scientific theory with practical research, analytical techniques, and evidence-based decision-making. Students develop expertise in toxicological assessment, regulatory compliance, and public health protection. Graduates are prepared for careers in pharmaceutical companies, environmental agencies, regulatory authorities, research institutions, forensic laboratories, and public health organizations.
Entry Requirements
- Certified copy of a recognized bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or Pharmacy (minimum 55% or 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale).
- IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band), TOEFL iBT 88, PTE 61, or Duolingo 110.
- Review of chemical safety and analytical chemistry background.
- Updated CV/resume, university transcripts, statement of purpose, and two academic reference letters.
- Applicants must satisfy programme-specific academic eligibility, and for postgraduate programmes hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Some programmes may also require relevant work experience, an interview, or a portfolio where specified.
