The Bachelor of Nursing (Level 7) at the University of Waikato prepares students to become registered nurses through an integrated programme of theoretical learning, clinical simulation, and supervised healthcare placements. Students study anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nursing practice, health assessment, mental health, community nursing, and evidence-based healthcare.
Extensive clinical experience enables students to develop safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive nursing practice across diverse healthcare settings. Graduates meet the academic requirements for registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and are prepared for careers in hospitals, primary healthcare, aged care, community health, and specialised clinical services.
