The Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Waikato provides an in-depth understanding of human movement, physical performance, exercise physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, and sports psychology. Students combine scientific theory with practical laboratory testing, athlete performance analysis, and community-based learning experiences.
The programme explores injury prevention, health promotion, strength and conditioning, and exercise prescription for individuals and teams. Graduates develop the knowledge and practical skills required for careers in sports performance, fitness coaching, rehabilitation support, health promotion, exercise consultancy, community sport organisations, and postgraduate research.
