Course Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) at Cape Breton University prepares compassionate, highly competent registered nurses through evidence-based practice and intensive clinical placements. The curriculum integrates anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, health assessment, and patient-centered nursing theory across diverse lifespan demographics.

Students train in CBU’s state-of-the-art simulation laboratories before completing clinical rotations in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community health centers. The program focuses on acute care, mental health nursing, indigenous health equity, and rural healthcare delivery. Graduates are eligible to write the NCLEX-RN licensing examination to enter registered nursing practice across Canada.
