Course Overview
The Master of Landscape Architecture at Unitec Institute of Technology prepares students to design resilient, sustainable, and culturally responsive landscapes through advanced design practice and research. The programme focuses on ecological restoration, urban landscapes, environmental planning, landscape technology, public space design, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
Studio projects and applied research strengthen creative, technical, and professional skills for addressing contemporary environmental challenges. Graduates are prepared for leadership positions in landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, ecological restoration, and public infrastructure projects.
Entry Requirements
- Recognized undergraduate degree with an average grade of B- or higher (GPA 4.0+) in Level 7 courses
- Alternatively, a recognized postgraduate diploma in an appropriate discipline with a B- average
- Significant portfolio of professional design work for critical reflection
- English language standards met via IELTS 6.5 or Level 2 NCEA literacy credits
- Submission of formal academic transcripts, CV, and application forms
