Course Overview
The Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of legal systems, legal reasoning, and the principles governing civil and criminal law. Students study constitutional law, contract law, criminal law, tort law, European Union law, legal research, and legal ethics while developing analytical, advocacy, and communication skills.
The programme combines theoretical learning with practical case analysis to prepare students for professional legal practice and policy development. Students strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving abilities by examining contemporary legal issues in national and international contexts. Graduates are prepared for careers in legal practice, corporate law, public service, compliance, and postgraduate legal education.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of 10 + 2 (Higher Secondary Certificate) with a minimum aggregate score of 80% in top academic subjects including English.
- IELTS 6.5 (with no band less than 6.0), TOEFL iBT 92, PTE 63, or Duolingo 120.
- Legal aptitude, critical reasoning, and essay writing evaluation.
- Certified 10 + 2 mark sheets, personal statement detailing legal career motivation, and LORs.
- Secondary school completion certificate verification and passport copy.
