Course Overview
The Master of Laws (LLM) offers advanced legal education for graduates seeking to deepen their expertise in specialized areas of law and contemporary legal issues. The programme develops advanced research, critical analysis, and legal writing skills through a combination of taught modules and independent research.
Students engage with complex legal topics from both national and international perspectives while examining evolving legal frameworks and policy developments. Emphasis is placed on intellectual inquiry, professional ethics, and evidence-based legal reasoning. Graduates are prepared for senior legal practice, policymaking, academia, international organizations, and doctoral research.
Entry Requirements
- Certified copy of a recognized Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or law-related degree (minimum 55% or 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale).
- IELTS 6.5 (minimum 6.0 in each band), TOEFL iBT 88, PTE 61, or Duolingo 110.
- Legal writing sample or academic paper review upon request.
- Comprehensive CV/resume, law transcripts, two academic recommendation letters, and a statement of purpose.
- Applicants must satisfy programme-specific academic eligibility, and for postgraduate programmes hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Honours Grade 1 or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. Some programmes may also require relevant work experience, an interview, or a portfolio where specified.
